Our team is important and we accomplish a lot together. Every single member of our team is here because we all have the same common goal, to help those suffering from mental health issues. some Members have personal experiences of mental health issues, whilst others don't, but together we hope to create the strongest possible voice to fix mental health.

The Team

Our team is made up of 3 trustees, 8 board members and 12 yearly elected members. They vary in age and each one brings something unique to the table.


Lauren Barclay

"For me, the charity is important as it is a cause which is close to my heart. Mental health is something which I have fought for change in for so long and I am very excited to work with YMHM."

Lauren has just English Language at Manchester University. She sits on many boards across Greater Manchester giving a youth voice in Mental Health services. She is also a Young Advisor for Young Minds. In her spare time she is a rower at Agecroft rowing club and also has an active role in local politics. She also spends her summers working at an American Camp.


Alice Sutcliffe

Alice is currently studying politics at Lancaster University. In April 2017 Alice was also elected as Trafford's Member of Youth Parliament. From a young age she has been engaged in youth voice.


Lucy Bishop

"I think this charity is aiming to do exactly what everybody should be doing. Getting people to focus on mental health and promoting change is so important and that's why I'm so excited to be part of all of this."

Lucy is the youngest member of our team, being only 16 but her knowledge is far above her age. She also studies at Altrincham Grammar for Girls, and is an active member of Trafford Youth Cabinet.


Katie Kevan

"Mental health is a very current topic that needs a lot of attention. That’s why being part of Youth Mental Health Matters means a lot to me. I would like to make a change for the better, breaking the stigma and making mental services more readily available to young people."

Katie is the newest member of our team, having recently taken up a role managing our social media and planning meetings. She has just graduated from the University of Chester, where she studied human nutrition. In her spare time she is a great baker!

Fancy Joining our Team?

We are always on the look-out for enthusiastic and like-minded people to join our team. Members are selected on a yearly basis, however we are always looking for volunteers and help with fundraising. Whatever your skill, if you would like to be involved then send us your information and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Applications are currently open to join our 2019/20 team.
